PM Modi will take stock of the devastation caused by Mamta with Amfan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left Delhi to take stock of the devastation caused by cyclone Amfan in West Bengal. The Prime Minister will hold a meeting with officials in Bengal and will conduct an aerial survey with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

In West Bengal, due to cyclonic storm Amphan, there has been a huge devastation. This is the most terrible storm here in the last 283 years. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an aerial survey of the Amfan affected area today. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had appealed to PM Modi to come to Bengal, after which PM is reaching there today. PM Modi has left from Delhi and will meet with officials on reaching Bengal.


Mamta will also be in the air survey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit West Bengal and Odisha affected by the storm. PM Modi will go to Bengal on Friday to assess the damage in the southern part of the state due to the Amfan. After this, PM Modi and Mamta Banerjee will conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas of North and South 24 Parganas including Kolkata.

Amidst the corona virus crisis, PM Modi is going out of Delhi for the first time after 83 days. Significantly, the nationwide lockdown was implemented on 25 March to put a brake on the speed of outbreak of corona infection in the country.

PM Modi will also visit Odisha

The storm of Amfan has also caused damage in Odisha. However, there has been less loss than Bengal. According to the tweet of the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi will also conduct an aerial survey of the damage done in Odisha.

Mamta appealed to PM Modi

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during her press conference on Thursday evening, appealed to PM Modi to visit the state. A few hours later, after accepting the appeal of CM Mamta, a decision was taken to visit PM Modi.

At a press conference on Thursday, Mamata Banerjee had demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the state. Mamta Banerjee said that the situation in the state is not good. I demand PM Modi to visit here. I will also do aerial survey. But I am waiting for the situation to recover.

Catastrophe in Kolkata

Due to the storm, many areas of Kolkata have been flooded. The impact of the storm is also visible at Kolkata Airport. There is water all around here. The strong winds of 6-hour storm Amfan damaged the Kolkata airport. Everywhere is full of water. Runways and hangars are immersed in water. In one part of the airport, many infrastructure is submerged in water. The highest havoc of Amfan was in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Midnapore and Kolkata in West Bengal.
