Website crashes for buying liquor

Delhi: E-Token website crashes to buy liquor; Police is also not allowing lines on contracts

To avoid overcrowding at liquor shops and to maintain a social distance, the Delhi government introduced an e-token system for the sale of liquor in the national capital and also launched a website www.qtoken.in. The website has come to a standstill since its launch on Thursday evening. The server is showing error (500) on opening the website until the news is written. At the same time, after the order of the Delhi government, the Delhi Police is removing people outside the contracts and asking them to line up according to the token number.

In a statement issued by the Delhi government, it is said that more people are facing problems on the server and we will fix the website soon. The Delhi government had decided to sell liquor through e-tokens following the huge rush on liquor contracts.

At the same time, the police are removing people engaged in lines to take liquor since Friday morning, because the government has issued an e-token for this, only through this token people will be able to buy alcohol. A customer Manish Kumar told that he came from 5 am. Now the police is removing everyone from here. After coming here, we came to know that now we will get alcohol through tokens, but those who do not have a smartphone or who are not educated enough, then how should they do so, the government should think a little about it.

Let us tell you that the Delhi government had given permission to open 200 liquor shops, but due to overcrowding, only 50 shops were able to open. The objective of introducing the e-Token system was to help people maintain social distance and reduce congestion by setting up time for each e-coupon holder to buy liquor at a shop.

The Delhi government had allowed liquor sales from Monday and imposed 70 per cent corona cess in liquor prices from Tuesday.
